Job description
Responsible for driving the VSP Ventures business transformation program and ongoing product development.
Set the strategic direction for operational advancements and initiative prioritization to support growth and optimization in accordance with enterprise strategy.
Align key stakeholders to strategic priorities both in the business and across functional support teams and ensure proper resource allocations needed to deliver results.
Lead business case development for new growth initiatives and process improvements aimed at improving positioning, effectiveness, and financial performance.
Manage external vendors and other stakeholders as needed to support business objectives.
Support the coordination of the annual strategic planning process with executive management as well as periodic business reviews.
Implement dashboards and scorecards to allow executive leadership to monitor the overall health of business transformation efforts and timeliness of execution.
Provide vision, leadership, and guidance to direct reports. Coach and mentor to ensure an energized, motivating work environment that supports the achievement of desired business outcomes. Conduct performance reviews, recommend merit increases, and allocate bonuses.
Facilitate day-to-day coordination, steering committee meetings, and communication of roles and responsibilities to key functional leaders.
Manage the Business Transformation annual budget.
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience; Minimum of 3 additional years of experience related to functional area
Minimum of 6 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of direct reports
Experience managing cross-functional business activities in matrixed environments
Ability to understand business and teams and take a multi-faceted approach to deliver successful outcomes for complex projects.
Proven advanced technical skills, including advanced quantitative and qualitative capabilities
Proven analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and negotiation skills
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to travel 15% of the time
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
