Distribution Designer
Job description
Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Distribution Designer to join our Denver office.
Primary duties include assisting a lead distribution designer and project manager leading a distribution design team in the development of plans, specifications, calculations and staking sheets, including being responsible for collecting field data, line staking, and updating records for the design of medium voltage electric utility distribution facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for assisting in the design of medium voltage (typically 12.47/7.2 kV) distribution lines for a variety of electric utility clients.
- Design projects include a significant amount of field work gathering GPS data, equipment inventory, and determine the best route for the new or refurbished line.
- Will often work with more senior employees in the field, acting as a design or staking assistant.
- Assists in obtaining field and shop measurements and prepares preliminary sketches.
- Assists in the collection and analysis of data from reports, maps, drawings, product catalogs, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
- Use data gathered for projects from catalogs and other reference materials as directed.
- Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Prepares and checks design computations and quantity estimates.
- Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for projects.
- Performs site visits or field assignments as required.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to travel up to 50%
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must possess a valid clear driver’s license
- Must be detail oriented, work well with other groups, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment
- The candidate should be proficient using Microsoft Office and able to learn new software packages efficiently
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Self-motivated to perform assigned tasks and take initiative to learn new skills

Hourly Range: Base Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 / Hour
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.
