Wenger Corporation is hiring a Distribution Warehouse Clerk to join our team in Owatonna, MN. The position is responsible for performing distribution, inventory, materials handling, and packing duties required to support multiple manufacturing areas under minimal supervision to expedite production and shipping.

Work schedule: 2nd Shift Monday – Thursday, 3:25pm - 1:55am

This job might be for you if you have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Skill and ability to work in and among multiple areas under minimal supervision
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents
• The ability and willingness to obtain a valid lift truck license
• Past experience with materials management

Highly qualified candidates may also possess:

• A valid lift truck license
• Class A CDL preferred

As a Distribution Warehouse Clerk, a typical day might include:

• Picking orders from the warehouse to palletize, label and wrap to load on trucks. As well as, pulling finished goods from the production lines to be stored in the warehouse.
• Loading trucks as drivers arrive, and emptying return trailers.
• Anticipating and planning how to provide the highest level of production and shipping support based on working knowledge of numerous parts, materials, and processes.
• Performing a wide variety of support duties, including but not limited to common carrier and UPS shipments, distribution warehouse management, inventory, and materials handling, according to established procedures, practices, and standards within and among areas assigned.
• Completion of all paperwork in a timely, accurate manner, notifying coordinators and/or managers of missing and/or questionable data to help avoid production/shipping delays and downtime.
  • Accurate and timely data management
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by means of cycle counting and system updates
  • Evaluates orders for discrepancies, and suggests ideas for corrective action
• Developing and maintaining working knowledge of material locations, and continually reviewing location information or maps as required
• Providing direction to others as required or requested on safe, proper methods of loading, unloading and transporting
• Recognition of recurring problems in the numerous and varied areas assigned and suggestions to resolve such problems frequently contribute to achieving established quality and quantity standards
• Consultation with vendors regarding improvements and/or quality conformance problems
• Planning best use of warehouse space to maximize utilization
