Domestic Violence Advocate
CVAN is a feminist domestic violence program in Concord, NC. We provide direct services including 24-hour
Hotline; Shelter; Outreach Center; counseling; court advocacy; support groups; children’s program; teen program;
women’s jail program; and friends & family program.
Experience in working with battered women not required. We provide intensive on-the-job training.

Duties Include:
- Work directly with battered women and their children in our Shelter; on the 24-hour Hotline and at the
- After experience on the job, Domestic Violence Advocates also have the opportunity to train in other
education.
- Interact with the public.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform all duties listed. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Hardworking; honest; reliable; friendly; respectful; calm in crisis; work under pressure; work with diverse
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and do medium lifting and carrying. Must possess visual acuity to
physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting,
fingering, grasping, talking and hearing.
- Must be able to independently operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid Driver’s License. Must
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday; hours vary, includes some evenings.
Salary: $16/hour
