CDL Driver/Warehouse Team Member
Full Time (30-40hrs per week depending on business volume)
Job Summary: This position will include material handling of products that have been completed during the manufacturing process. The employee in this position will be responsible for receiving stock, recording information about product and preparing it for shipment to the end user, delivering product and stocking it onsite at the customer location. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds to lift and position material into holders of machine/bins/shelving. Work environment warehouse, plant or production areas with periods of continue standing or walking. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing is required. Scanner, computer and inventory control experience are a plus.
Job Functions (Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements):
The primary duties consist of (but are not limited to) the following:
- Follow safety rules and work procedures.
- Drives truck (CDL) to transport materials to and from specified destinations by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
- Operate a forklift to load/unload truck when necessary
- Prepares receipts for load picked up. May maintain truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Position blocks and/or tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
- May load and unload truck; inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water; and/or perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
- Cleans work area or vehicle.
- Receive and count stock items, and record data by scanner, manually or using computer.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
- Prepare and load orders onto delivery truck
- Deliver product and stock onsite for customer
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
