Overview
E.D. Patient Access Representative
Works in fast paced Emergency Center and front line registration area. Relying heavily on HIM system's ED tracker board to ensure all patients are registered after the medical screening has been completed. Ensures all dealings with the public are handled in an exceptionally, professional manner. Is the insurance expert performing all accurate and timely registration functions in Meditech. Assists patients with rapid registrations for walk-in Outpatients monitors . Assists with cash collections and accurate gathering of insurance information in accordance with EMTALA regulations. Must be a positive, well-organized, and motivated individual capable of motivating others to positive outcomes. Must be able to project and exemplify the team concept to all co-workers and be a mentor to all employees. Must react quickly and positively to changes in the daily operations as directed by the Management Team for Navigation Access regarding all registration activities . Must be familiar will all aspects of Meditech and the Revenue Cycle process. Position requires on-call coverage on rotational basis.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Three years of experience in Business, Healthcare, Insurance, Financial, Customer Service or related field.
