Create a positive impact on families as IOCP’s Early Childhood Mental Health Lead! This brand-new role provides program development support, peer mentoring & consultation and direct services to families within IOCP’s Caring for Kids program. Caring for Kids is a collaborative program focused on kindergarten readiness among children living in families with low incomes by providing scholarships to quality early learning/childcare centers, parent education, mental health support, case management and access to basic needs services. A Peek at What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement a plan to build agency capacity to meet the mental health needs of families.
- Strengthen current therapeutic home visiting model to ensure strong child-parent/caregiver relationships.
- Coach and mentor staff on therapeutic work which may include engagement, assessment, goal setting, counseling, documentation and evaluation.
- Provide reflective mental health consultation and support to IOCP staff and other Early Childhood Mental Health staff.
- Conduct meetings with clients in an environment of their choice; including but not limited to childcare setting, home and/or IOCP.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, identify needs and develop goals with clients.
- Provide psychoeducation on mental health, challenges of parenting, child development, trauma and its impact on parent/child relationships.
- Collaborate with other IOCP staff to provide wraparound support for clients.

Qualifications
Minimum
- Master's degree or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields (social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling).
- Licensed in one of the above-named fields.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood development, systems as well as public and private resources in early childhood to support the success of early learners.
- Knowledge of mental health and common treatment modalities including but not limited to family systems, attachment, trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based.
- Minimum of two years related experience in delivering mental health services.
- Ability to work independently; Valid driver's license/auto insurance/reliable vehicle.
- Excellent organization, computer and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain and teach professional boundaries.
- Ability to creatively solve problems and complete complex tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and within a team.
- Demonstrated cultural competence with a focus on inclusion.
- A commitment to advocating for people living in poverty and social justice work.
- A deep commitment and passion to Interfaith Outreach’s mission and work.
Preferred
- 2 years' experience working in early childhood and providing direct support to families.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, Somali or Russian.
