Description
The Kentucky Department of Education is a premier service agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The department provides resources and guidance to Kentucky's public schools and districts as they implement the state's K-12 education requirements. The department also serves as the state liaison for federal education requirements and funding opportunities. The department seeks to hire a smart, experienced, hardworking and dependable Education Administration Program Consultant II to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and curate communications to support and provide technical assistance, research and resources for the implementation and evaluation of education programs, develop and disseminate information which describe available services from the Department of Education.
  • Create, maintain, implement and monitor a communications plan, regularly consult with office and division staff to review, maintain and update Office of Educator Licensure & Effectiveness web pages, create and continuously improve communications for Division of Educator Recruitment and Development, Assessment, such as newsletter, social media footprint, web tool updates, research & resources, prioritize equity and cultural competence in all division communications, collaborate with division, office and agency staff regarding communications.
  • Develop applications, evaluations, registration and other forms for assigned programs to support work of office and division.
  • Create static and interactive documents such as surveys, registration forms, feedback forms in online platforms, i.e., Survey Monkey, Google docs. Serve as OELE Share-point owner and webmaster, consult with division and office staff on best options for communication needs.
  • Support other office and division programmatic initiatives including, but not limited to support for Task Forces, Educators Rising and other DEPAI initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional experience in education, vocational education, or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office or school setting. Travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
