This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Education Program Assistant 2 position for the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University ( OSU ).
The purpose of this position is to serve as a member of the Inclusion Implementation Team to assist in the development and implementation of training and professional development opportunities for a new grant related to development of a Pyramid Model and early childhood inclusion modules for the state of Oregon. These activities include co-contributing and assisting the Team to conduct community engagement, implement practices, create web-based learning modules, and host key events—all to sustainably implement practices that advance inclusion in Oregon. These practices are focused on the Pyramid Model (https://challengingbehavior.org/) and inclusion indicators framework. (https://ectacenter.org/topics/inclusion/indicators.asp).

This position will develop portions of training modules and supplemental materials, in collaboration with Inclusion Implementation Team members. The EPA2 may also interact with OSU and ODE project leadership with the Team, as well as partner with OSU’s Early Learning System Initiative (ELSI), to assist in developing professional development efforts that aim to sustainability implement practices that advance inclusion in Oregon.
The Inclusion Implementation Team is led by the Implementation Manager for the Inclusion Initiative. The EPA2 will work with other members (e.g., Outreach Coordinator) of the Team to contribute to and assist with the development of these initiatives. The content in development will support diverse groups of educators and partners in English and Spanish, and thus bilingual/bi-literate/bi-cultural individuals will be prioritized.

Position Duties
65% Content Development and Training Facilitation
  • In collaboration with team members, develops portions of training modules for the regional Pyramid Model and Oregon early childhood inclusion modules (in person and web-based) as well as supplemental materials (e.g., resources, training guides).
  • Delivers trainings/workshops based on approved program curriculum.
  • Makes changes to/adjusts curriculum as needed (with approval from the Manager)
  • Supports the development of and contributes to activities for state, program, and community cohorts implementing the inclusion indicators and/or Pyramid Model in response to data/feedback.


30% – Program Development and Assistance
  • Contribute to the development of activities to co-create Oregon Pyramid Model and Oregon early childhood inclusion modules for trainers and coaches.
  • Assist in the identification of resources and needs for inclusion cohorts.
  • Support and assist in the activities for the Oregon Childhood Inclusion Initiative Implementation Summit and other events (e.g., mid- and end-year celebrations and review for Implementation Communities).
  • Supports and assists in preparing for project meetings and meetings with partners (e.g., communities of practice), represents team when needed due to absences.
  • Assists implementation team in the creation of partnerships with community stakeholders.
  • Assists implementation team in the creation of reports for the funding agency.
  • Contributes to community engagement efforts to conduct outreach on Pyramid Model and Oregon Early Childhood Inclusion module.

5% – Gather and Analyze Data
  • Review and contribute to reports and presentations
  • Collect, maintain, and organize data, electronic and written files for the project.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree and three years of work experience (paid or volunteer) supporting community programs that serve children, youth or adults OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of work experience (paid or volunteer) one year of which must be working in youth development programs, adult education, teaching, program delivery or related functions OR Five years experience in a field related to the duties of the position AND a high school diploma or equivalent. AND Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated skill to work with diverse audiences. Demonstrated skill to use computers for word processing, data management, and communications.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Prior work experience in an inclusive setting that serves children birth to 5 years old.
  • Experience developing and/or implementing professional development resources and training for the early childhood workforce.
  • Prior experience implementing Pyramid Model and/or knowledge of inclusion practices and indicators.
  • Experience teaching and/or supporting educators in early care and education settings. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Experience developing web-based modules.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position requires driving/travel to attend meetings and meet with stakeholders.
Remote work may be possible, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.
