Job description
The EEG Technician will provide support to the EEG Lab in conjunction with the Medical Director and with the Department Director. The primary responsibility is to perform technically and clinically accurate EEG tests as ordered by the Physicians in the clinical Neuro-diagnostic lab, all ICU settings and patient floors. Report directly to the Department Director and to the Medical Director.
Skills & Abilities:
- Appropriate clinical skills to pediatric patients and their families.
- Must be able to work closely with physicians and other medical staff.
- Capacity to work well with uncooperative and severely ill patients.
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills, excellent organizational skills.
- The /EEG technician must have the ability to operate peripheral computer equipment and make minor repairs when necessary.
- Required to participate EEG On-Call rotation as needed.
- Works independently, utilizing a variety of instrumentation on an on-going basis.
- Other duties assigned by the Department Director.
Training & Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
- ABRET Registered Or In Process
- Training in Neurodiagnostic procedures or with on the job training experience.
- Sleep Technician with A-Step Certification Completed.
- EMT technicians with active certification.
- CMA with active certification
Experience:
One-Two years’ experience in any of the above healthcare field is preferred.
Required Licenses :
CPR and or BLS certification
