Core Responsibilities:
- Reporting to EHS Manager, this position will assist him in leading all plant-wide Environmental process in order to protect and enhance the well-being of employees, guests, and outside contractors by complying with all governmental and company environmental regulations, and internal safety initiatives.
- Consults, trains, directs, develops, and implements environmental programs and committees to promote overall environmental initiatives.
- Investigates environmental incidents and establishes appropriate behavior modifications to prevent reoccurrence.
- Investigates potential environmental hazards to eliminate risk.
- Ensure all waste management paperwork and assist with subsequent reporting to government entities is handled properly and efficiently.
- Provides education, policies, and procedures to minimize and eliminate environmental incidents.
- Evaluates new equipment and processes and identifies areas of improvement.
- Assists with coordination of contractors regarding Environmental issues (training, enforcing rules, auditing, tracking compliance, orientation records, etc.)
Specific Environmental Duties
:
- Monitor Compliance calendar and keep due dates.
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPPP) plan follow through.
- Weekly inspect the site for storm water issues including spills, containment issues, trash issues, outfall, and ditch monitoring.
- Maintain Log for Scrap, Mill Scale and, Other Recycling.
Job Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma Minimum.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills; Detail oriented.
- Ability to build relationships at every level of the organization.
- Presentation skills; Ability to work on own as well as with teams; Ability to lead safety teams.
