Come grow with us…North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at our Tooling and Automation facility in Ridgeville Corners, OH!

Experience Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in metal stamping, forming, welding, and/or automation
  • Process design, improvement and or verification experience
  • Proficient with CAD software preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and follow wiring schematics and blueprints.
  • Have a working knowledge of industrial machine applications and processes and how to integrate the controls of those processes.
  • If Ohio based know the Ohio Revised Code regarding electrical (OSHA and NFPA) and other NASG Standards regulating wiring practices.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA general industry and press related standards
  • Electrical controls/ systems knowledge
  • Computer Skills including but not limited to: PLC – 5000, HMI, Power Point and Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects
Personal/Technical Skills:
  • Ensure safety, process capability, efficiency and standardization in assigned facility through NASG machine standards and designs.
  • Assist in insuring a safe work environment
  • Assistance in preparation of strategic plan and budget
  • Participate in Associate involvement teams
  • Upgrade self with training as required for job responsibilities
  • Participate in Problem solving and 8-D activities to ensure quality product to our customers
  • Regular review of downtime and plan for improvement
  • Ensure the manufacturing processes are constantly evolving with technological advancements.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Verify safety controls on new machines; Maintains electrical compliance with OSHA & NFPA.
  • Works with other Electrical Engineers in designing controls and panels on new and rebuilt machinery based to current API Standards.
  • Responsible for all electrical type-controlled documents within their facility. Specifically changes made to electrical control programs, sustaining ARC flash analysis studies, electrical schematic designs, programmable logic controllers, HMI systems, compact logic 5000, etc.
  • Perform electrical start-up of new machinery. Commission PLC programs and HMI Screens and debug as necessary.
  • Build electrical control panels according to electrical prints in a neat and organized manner.
  • Install all control wiring and devices on new and rebuilt machinery when needed.
  • Inspection of hardwiring prior to electrically energizing.
  • Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering and continuous improvement projects.
  • Implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for industrial purposes.
  • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing or installation standards or specifications.
  • Investigate customer complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures.
  • Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • May supervise or lead others within the electrical maintenance department
  • Familiarity with gages and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical production failures and initiate improvements.
  • Other duties may be required.
Education Requirements:
  • Required – Diploma and a two-year degree from college or technical school in the electrical field.
  • Preferred – B.S. Electrical engineer or equivalent field of education.
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Desire to continue education to maintain knowledge of technological improvements in the electrical field.
Travel:
  • Minimal, but some travel may be required in the USA, Mexico, Canada
Physical Requirements:
  • Covid-19 Vaccination is required for all new hires with exceptions only as required by law.
  • Stand and walk for up to 12 hours
  • Able to work flexible hours
  • Able to lift, carry, hold, and manipulate loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Dexterity to manipulate product onto gages or gages onto parts
  • Acceptable vision and hearing with or without appropriate prescribed aides
  • Able to work within environment that has temperature fluctuations
