Optimized Process Design, LLC is hiring a Electrical Engineer. A successful candidate for this role will be able to apply their engineering skills in a team environment to provide contribution to projects and company standards. While making tactical long-term investment and strategy decisions impacting the entire organization, successful candidates will have the opportunity for both technical and leadership growth. You will be responsible for working closely with other engineering groups to support a multitude of projects, and business initiatives.

What You Will Do In Your Role
- Designing and identifying opportunities for applying our power and control engineering capability in new ways that will add long-term economic value and reliability to our clients
- Supporting projects on power infrastructure engineering and design – define scope of work, develop estimates and project schedules, manage implementation planning and mitigate risks
- Review and prepare load studies, one-line diagrams, equipment specifications and standards
- Prepare equipment RFQ’s for Switchgear, MCC’s, VFDs, Transformers, UPS, PFCCs.
- Prepare/Review power systems studies (arc flash analysis, coordination, relay protection schemes, equipment device evaluations, relay settings)
- Assist in development of method of procedures for energization plans for multiple projects.
- Review equipment test reports from 3rd party NETA certified testing companies.
- Reviewing power electrical drawings related to one-line diagrams, schematics/wiring diagrams, cable schedule, area classification, layout/plot plans, elevation, piping and instrument diagrams, data sheets and similar drawings
- Assisting and troubleshooting in managing the technology support needs of business and engineering requirements as they relate to power and control systems and related applications
- Conducting R&D on emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for applying the electrical capability to achieve superior results
- Travel up to 15% of the time that is driven by project schedule and workload, with the ability to travel on short notice as needed. Travel to provide field engineering support for projects.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
- Five (5) years’ experience in electrical engineering with power system equipment and design
- Experience specifying electrical equipment and evaluate vendor proposals for the full spectrum of power system equipment
- Experience with codes and standards such as NFPA 70/70E and Electrical Safe Work Programs, and Hazardous Area Classification
- Experience with 3-phase motor controls, 480V A/C systems, and low voltage D/C systems
- Professional Engineer license
What Will Put You Ahead
- Ten (10) years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial setting and/or as a consultant/project manager
- Experience in ETAP and/or SKM for power systems analysis and arc-flash studies.
