This position requires an engineer who is fully competent in electrical engineering design for power distribution, controls, and instrumentation for a portion of a major project or a complete project of moderate scope. The candidate should have a broad knowledge of electrical engineering related to the design of industrial process type facilities or water/wastewater treatment facilities. Typical electrical system designs include medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution via switchgear, switchboards, substations, and motor control centers and panelboards. Typical control systems designs consist of motor controls, variable frequency drives, programmable logic control (PLC), and supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA). Should have experience with developing plans and specifications for the design of building systems such as lighting, communications networks, fire alarm systems, and security systems. Should be familiar with electrical systems analysis software for producing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash calculations such as SKM Power*Tools.

Qualifications/Requirements

· Professional Engineer licensed preferred

· Experience with electrical systems drawings such as power distribution, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security.

· Basic knowledge of electrical calculations. Especially experience using SKM Power*Tools power systems analysis software.

· Perform electrical engineering design

· Develop electrical plans and specifications for small to medium sized projects.

· Coordinate with clients and utilities.

· Attend site visits and client meetings.

· Assist with construction observation and shop drawing reviews.

· 5 or more years of related experience.

· Travel: Local and domestic travel may be required consisting of approximately 5%.
