Artimus is seeking an Electrical/Power Electronics Design Engineer to design, prototype, build, and test high voltage electronics to power and control HASEL actuators. You will work directly with a co-founder of the company to develop these cutting-edge electronics packages. As a nascent platform technology, this position offers a unique opportunity to invent new electronics for the next generation of robotic structures that use HASEL actuators. This position will require end-to-end engineering, stemming from concept ideation to hardware implementation. Due to the fast-paced and inventive nature of this position, creative thinking skills are of utmost importance.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for electrical products in all stages of development from schematic design, PCB layout and routing, analysis, part selection, manufacturing, soldering, potting, testing, and qualification.

• Ideation and creation of novel DC-DC high voltage converters

• Optimizing electronics for high power output (10s – 100s of Watts) while maintaining a compact size

Required skills:

• Expert with circuit simulation tools like LTspice or PLECS.

• Expert in electrical theory and power transformation

• Experience designing and testing high voltage systems

• Extensive knowledge of high-power capacitors and electrostatic systems

• Proficient with data collection, processing, and visualization

• Experience with PCB design software such as EAGLE or Altium.

• Expert troubleshooting hardware

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and the ability to quickly learn on-the-fly

Additional preferred skills:

• A master’s degree (or 2-5 years equivalent industry experience) in power electronics

• Familiarity with designing battery charging circuits

• Experience designing pressure-tolerant electronics

• Experience obtaining UL certifications

Compensation

• Salary of $70-90k per year depending on experience.
