Position Overview

An Electronic Technician is responsible for overseeing the functionality of the electronic instrumentation throughout the facility. All tasks must be performed safely, in accordance with experience, training, instructions and guidance from the maintenance supervisor or designee. This position performs duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and replaces electronic instrumentation for the facility
  • Calibrates, troubleshoots and repairs electronic instrumentation and sensing equipment used to monitor cable manufacturing processes.
  • Installs and repairs the camera, paging and speaker systems throughout the facility
  • Ability to work with other trades, manufacturing personnel, engineers and supervisory personnel to develop and implement changes to implement electronic and sensing components and modify operation of devices
  • Trains new personnel in performance of position
  • Properly completes maintenance records as required by the city, state and federal regulations, both on paper and in a variety of computer systems. Performs and completes required recordkeeping for Quality Program calibrations and PM Program
  • Accurately follows complicated assembly drawings and blueprints as well as manuals and work instructions for equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Develops and implements requested tasks, including requesting necessary parts and materials, involving electronic equipment, including controllers, sensing equipment, data collection, etc.
  • Safely operates various hand and power tools and powered industrial equipment such as fork lifts, aerial lifts, and pallet jacks
  • Works as a team player to facilitate the objectives of the Maintenance Department
  • Follows verbal and written instruction and is accountable for his/her actions
  • Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices. Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner, following plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout
  • Adheres to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment
  • Accepts increased responsibility and is accountable for his/her actions
  • Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department
  • Responds to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electronic technology is required.
  • No less than one year of experience troubleshooting various industrial electronic equipment using scopes, meters, and other electronic and electrical equipment
  • Experience with electronic instrument calibration program and procedures strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-directed with high level of initiative and strong work ethic required
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, work instructions, and blueprints
  • Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day. Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions
  • Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Must be willing to work any shift as needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Computer skills, including familiarization with Microsoft Office is strongly preferred. Must be computer literate to facilitate recordkeeping, information search and preparation of documents for performance of job tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
