TSC is seeking an Assembler II in Huntsville, AL. This position supports the Production Division.

Responsibilities:

Performs basic and intricate electronic/electro-mechanical assembly functions on prototype and production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications. Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire lists. Uses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower level assemblers. Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings and Works to work orders using visual aids, ECN's, and schematics. May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automatic prepping, loading, and insertion equipment. At the most senior level may serve as a team leader providing training to new staff and evaluating the performance and finished work of assigned staff. The employee may frequently be required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

  • Comply with safety rules and procedures
  • Follow general build processes to avoid FOD and ESD risks
  • Execute electronic transactions for tracking production
  • Assemble electrical and electronic components, wiring harnesses, and other electrical assemblies and subassemblies
  • Maintain material accountability at workstations
  • Follow 6S processes for organization and efficiency
  • Execute build and test instructions
  • Ensure quality of workmanship
  • Coordinate with coworkers to resolve problems
  • Prepare assembly area: determine materials and machinery by reading work orders, following production drawings and/or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed; verify parts by comparing provided part with part description in work documentation
  • Ensure all quality processes and procedures are followed
  • Recommend changes to processes and procedures for improved operations
  • Work with business leaders to improve productivity
  • Prepare tools and equipment: select hand tools and equipment according to work specification; set up equipment to run according to work plan
  • Modify and/or enhance part by using a variety of soldering techniques and hand and/or power tools, such as solder block, soldering iron, and various other hand tools
  • Periodically test continuity and connections using ohmmeter or other standard testing equipment
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Manager and develop a plan of action to correct the issues; assist in maintaining quality production standards by repairing defective parts using basic soldering and/or mechanical repair techniques
  • Maintain record of work progress: record results of job and/or problems with job in work documentation; verify quantity of lot by hand counting or weigh counting using standard scales
  • Perform in-process quality checks on product, including visual inspections, to ensure product meets required specifications; identify and communicate any defects
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • 1-3 years in electronics assembly

Preferred Qualifications:
  • JSTD Certification
  • IPC-610 Certification
  • IPC-620 Certification
  • Associates Degree- electronics Technician or related field
