JOB TITLE: Electronics Technician II

EMPLOYEE STATUS: Hourly, non-exempt

PURPOSE: Is accountable for performing maintenance on our facility and production equipment in order to maximize our overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

AREA OF PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY: Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production, support, and facilities equipment.
  • Troubleshoots issues with production, support, or facilities equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, program, and repair equipment controls and automation.
  • Assists technicians with equipment training to bring proficiency and the opportunity for advancement to other associates
  • Identifies opportunities for maintenance improvements or activities during inspections or daily Gemba walks.
  • Identifies parts that are required to perform maintenance and communicate stock outages to maintenance support personnel.
  • Inspect, advise, perform and/or schedule repairs on equipment and facility.
  • Inspect, advise, perform and/or schedule building maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs setup on equipment to assist production personnel.
  • Promptly confer with the immediate supervisor of any problems that may arise in carrying out the above responsibilities.
  • Repair and fabricate jigs and devices for production.
  • Perform advanced electrical tasks, including troubleshooting equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot building safety controls

GENERAL DUTIES:

1) Must understand and comply with all relevant local and national safety codes.

2) Clearly understands and complies with local and national lockout/tagout procedures

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must prioritize safety
  • Understand and comply with all relevant safety codes and work instructions.
  • Understands mechanical and electrical systems, drawings, and equipment.
  • Models HVO core values.
  • Able to work with computers and MS Office suite (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understand and comply with ISO 14385 quality standards

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1) Maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license and be approved by HVO's insurance carrier.

2) Minimum of one-year related experience in automated equipment and/or industrial maintenance.

3) Associate with NC electrical license may earn preferred compensation

4) One year of machine shop experience, including welding and cutting preferred

5) Must have demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude

6) Ability to use hand tools

7) Associate may be on a call schedule

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly required to stand for long periods; repeat the same movements; use hands to handle, control, feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent bending or twisting; frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects and frequent walking, stooping, reaching.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

1) Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required, technical associates degree preferred

2) Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or relevant experience in another field may be considered
