Elmore County is looking for applicants to fill two (2) full-time EMT-B and one (1) full-time Paramedic position in the Elmore Ambulance Service (EAS) Department: (Refer to job description for full details and requirements).

EMT-B

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) has certification and licensure as an EMT and provides basic-level life support under the direction of paramedics and AEMT’s. Hourly pay is offered at:$13.50-$15.51 DOQ.

PARAMEDIC

A Paramedic is distinguished in the amount of education/training received, has certification and/or licensure as a Paramedic and provides advanced-level medical care (ALS). Paramedics oversee AEMT’s and EMT’s in the unit. ** A minimum of three years’ experience as a certified EMT Paramedic with transport experience is preferred.

Hourly pay is offered at:$18.64-$22.74 DOQ.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required at time of hire:

· High school diploma or GED;

· Must possess and maintain a valid Idaho driver’s license;

· Must possess and maintain Idaho State Licensure as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic;

· Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification meeting AHA standards;

Must be able to obtain within one year of employment:

· Complete an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC);

· Certification in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS);

· Complete a HAZ-MAT awareness or equivalent;

· Complete ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700.

Paramedic only:

· Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications;

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· This position has been designated safety sensitive and therefore the incumbent is subject to random drug testing;

· The incumbent will be issued and must wear Elmore Ambulance Service uniforms while on duty and be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of both dress and safety uniforms, as well as all issued equipment;
