NOW OFFERING LATERAL HIRE OPPORTUNITY AND ADDITIONAL PAY FOR TCOLE CERTIFICATION!

Duties include receiving and dispatching emergency calls from citizens requesting police service; maintaining contact with police field units; entering, updating and retrieving information from teletype networks; and providing assistance in taking reports over the telephone. Duties require being able to work an eight or 12 hour shift covering a 24-hour period, and schedule will include weekends and some holidays. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and two years relevant experience; Computer Aided Dispatch, 911 or similar police-related experience preferred. If and when requested, must take and pass an assessment on Critical Personnel Selection Software. Must have, or be able to obtain within specified timeframe, TCOLE telecommunications proficiency certificate and state licensure. Duties involve access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), which requires that a thorough background check be conducted. Candidates will be subject to a polygraph exam and criminal history check. I n accordance with CJIS requirements, m ust not have any criminal conviction as an a dult or j uvenile above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered.

EFFECTIVE 1/8/23: PAY GRADE EN17 / FULL PAY RANGE $26.14 - $36.86 PER HOUR

THOSE WHOSE DATE OF HIRE (START DATE) IS FEBRUARY 19 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2023, ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIRING INCENTIVE!

• 
  Individuals hired into this position will receive $1000 after their first 30 days of employment provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
• Employees that successfully complete their 6-month orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
• Employees that successfully complete one year of employment without
  documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000.
• The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individual employee may receive is $3,000.
