JOB SUMMARY

The Emergency Department Representative is an essential member of the patient care team, providing indirect patient care and clerical support. The ED Rep will be responsible for maintaining patient charts consistent with organizational policies. They will answer telephones in a courteous and professional manner, listening to the caller to gather enough information to direct the call to appropriately and accurately meet the customer's needs. They will interview patients, relatives, or their representatives to secure personal, financial, and insurance data through face-to-face or telephone interviews.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• High-School diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Terminology preferred

Experience:

• 1-year previous experience in a customer service field
• Previous experience in a medical office preferred

Other Skills Required:

• Excellent Customer Relation skills required
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Organized
