POSITION TITLE: Emergency Department Technician I
DEPARTMENT: Emergency Department
REPORTS TO: Emergency Department Director
JOB PURPOSE: To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BASIC FUNCTION: Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Collaborates with Emergency Department, other departments and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care is provided. Serves as a member of the trauma/code/sepsis/stroke team. Duties include but are not limited to obtaining patient vitals and EKG, ordering and obtaining labs, starting IVs, assisting with patient care work flow, transporting and rooming patients, answering phones/emails, communicating with Emergency Department members and other departments, hospitals, dispatch, etc. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Training in any and/or all of the following classes, Paramedic, Pracbasic EMT training, Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant. Must have current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
Experience: A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar role is preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION :
$17.50 - $23.00 Dependent on Experience
Shift differentials may apply for eligible positions.
