Location: NY, Seattle, and Denver metropolitan area ( once or twice a week onsite required)
What You’ll Get to Do:
The Emergency Management Planner will assist in the design, development, conduct, and evaluation of all-hazards emergency plans intended to improve our Nation’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and acts of terrorism.
We are hiring junior-, mid-, and senior-level planners for our team.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
· At least five years of experience in all-hazards emergency planning and knowledge of the 6-step planning process.
· Experience assessing the need for new emergency plans, and revisions of current emergency plans and procedures.
· Experience developing, preparing, and monitoring reports and proposals, for designated emergency management projects/programs.
· Experience planning, coordinating, or facilitating/leading group sessions or presenting information which may include external stakeholders and manager-level leaders as well as use in training of new/existing employees or customers.
· Understanding of incident response, incident support, and incident management activities.
· Proficiency with MS Office 365.
· Ability to work independently on a complex task with little direction and management oversight.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including technical writing aptitude.
· Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD).
Desired Qualifications:
· Direct experience with federal, state, or local emergency management agency.
· Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, disaster management, or homeland security policy.
· FEMA Basics IS700, IS800, IS100, IS200, ICS300, ICS400, FEMA Professional Development Series and FEMA Advanced Professional Series.
· Certified Emergency Manager or state equivalent and/or Business Continuity certification.
