Aware Inc., the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault agency of advocates for Mercer County, is seeking an On-Call Emergency Response Advocate.

JOB TITLE: Emergency Response Advocate

Supervisor: Program Services, Director

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT, Hourly plus stipend

DUTIES:

1. Provide crisis intervention and support for victims of domestic or sexual violence.

· Respond to emergency calls through agency hotline for victim assistance within 15 minutes of receiving message

· Provide support and advocacy to all clients calling the agency hotline

· Provide advocacy support to victims at hospitals, police stations

· Transport clients to emergency housing programs throughout the county.

· Provide VCAP education, information, and assistance completing paperwork.

· Respond to Lethality Assessment (LAP) calls from local police departments

· Provide support and work collaboratively with Area Action Agency on Aging when working with senior victims after hours.

· Respond to APS calls

2. Educate residents of emergency housing about policies and procedures governing residence.

· Conduct intake and eligibility assessment for prospective emergency housing residents

· Orient new residents in emergency housing to agency policies and procedures

· Respond to emergency housing resident needs after hours/weekends/holidays

· Provide victim accompaniment or transportation as needed for service plan related activity

· Review safety and security procedure with each resident

3. Promote safety and security of Aware locations

· Respond to all calls from Security regarding alarms

· Respond to location of alarm issues with local police department

4. Other

· Complete all reporting requirements as directed

· Complete ETO documentation at end of each on-call shift

· Turn in all paperwork to supervisor and/or Grants Manager at end of on-call shift

· Maintain agency cell phone during on-call shift

· Attend staff meetings, in-service training workshops as directed by supervisor

· Complete (10) hours continuing education, annually

This is an on-call, daily stipend position with hour rate when responding to emergency calls. Daily stipend is $50, hourly rate is $12.00. Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Must have a driver's license and vehicle. Services will be provided in Mercer County PA. Most job duties can be completed remotely, however this position must live in Mercer County Pa due to required response time to on call emergencies.
