Emergency Services Training/Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

Starting Salary: $56,000 plus excellent benefits package

Performs difficult technical and administrative work developing, coordinating and implementing the emergency services fire and EMS training program; coordinating the recruitment and retention of the fire and emergency medical services personnel; assist in overseeing the maintenance of the Mecklenburg/Brunswick training facilities and equipment; preparing and maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Emergency Services Coordinator.

Requires an Associate degree in emergency medical service, fire science, emergency management or closely related field supplemented by two (2) years of supervisor or management level experience instructing, planning, coordinating and managing fire and EMS training programs; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

· Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic or Higher and Emergency Vehicle Operator Course, Class III or ability to acquire within 18 months of employment or in an agreed upon time frame.

· Fire Instructor II or greater certification and Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) Education Coordinator or ability to acquire within 18 months of employment or in an agreed upon time frame.

The selected applicant must successfully pass pre-employment requirements that include: drug screening, background check, fingerprinting.
