Employment Specialist - Sacramento Adult Day Reporting Center
Leaders in Community Alternatives, Inc. (LCA) is a community –based criminal justice organization which has been providing services in California since 1991. LCA operates three Adult Day Reporting Centers (DRC’s) and one Accountability Collaboration Treatment Program which offers a broad array of reentry services and integrates evidence-based criminal justice practices into service delivery. LCA has operated a Day Reporting Program in North Sacramento for the last 11 years and have 2 additional sites under contract with Sacramento County Probation and we are seeking qualified applicants for a Case Manager position. This is a Full-Time non-exempt (hourly) position.
The Employment Specialist is an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team that provides a continuum of services to justice involved populations on probation at the Adult Day Reporting Centers and the Accountability Collaboration Treatment Program. The Employment Specialist provides Seeking Employment facilitation and will have the overall responsibility for employment opportunities and referral, vocational skills development and job readiness/life skills instruction, developing relationships with potential employers as well as employment related case management and data input duties. Other responsibilities include conducting client assessments to determine employment, conducting training in resume writing; track clients’ participation in vocational and employment classes in database systems, create and prepare monthly report.
Minimum qualifications and experience: The Employment Specialist must have a minimum of two years’ prior experience working with the criminal justice, homeless, and or substance abuse population and an Associate in Arts Degree or related field. Preferred candidate will have experience providing job readiness training, job search assistance, job placement, interviewing and resume techniques, and job retention workshops and related counseling and or coaching/recruiting/advising. The Employment Specialist must have a good working knowledge of local area employment and vocational training programs and opportunities, as well as the ability to perform outreach to outside agencies and small businesses as part of constituency building; provide community service options for clients, and working knowledge of database systems; organize and conduct bi-annual job fairs.

Regular work days and hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Salary:$23.00 per hour + Benefits
