Goodwill Industries of North Florida is seeking an Employment Specialist to work in our Jacksonville Job Junction. This position functions in a critical role to identify employment opportunities for job seekers, screening to ensure each candidate meets the requirements a given job lead. Provides assistance to job seekers to ensure that they effectively apply for employment positions.
We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting all individuals who face barriers to employment by providing innovative job training and placement services to help them obtain and maintain meaningful employment. Our Job Junctions provide community employment services for job seekers residing Northeast Florida. Our primary role is to assist job seekers and individuals who face barriers to employment in obtaining employment.
The Employment Specialist/Recruiter’s (ES/R) role in this position functions in a critical role to identify employment opportunities for job seekers, screen job seekers to ensure each candidate meets the requirements of a given job lead., and provide assistance for applying for a job. The ES/R is also responsible for sourcing, screening, recommending and onboarding all Goodwill associates. The ES/R serves as an entry point to the employment services we provide to our community. Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Associates degree required
Experience
Minimum 2 years prior experience in staffing services, HR Recruitment, and case management or a related field is preferred
Strong understanding of staffing principles, laws, and procedures and a solid working knowledge of recruitment/employment programs
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workplace, and Applicant Tracking Systems
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
Valid Florida driver’s license.

- Able to demonstrate understanding of program requirements, procedures, policies and information technology systems within probationary training period and maintain that mastery over the course of employment

- Knowledge of labor market, trends and emerging workforce issues
- Experience in profiling the needs of employers and job seekers
Job Duties
Essential Duties

Responsible for assisting applicants seeking employment and/or training, where appropriate- Develop, coordinate and execute recruitment plans with partners to ensure hiring goals are met with the best possible talent. All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations, as appropriate. Interviews and identifies the employment needs of business partners
- Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as resume & phone screens, candidate interviews, recommend final selection of applicants and close qualified candidates
- Represent the company at recruiting events (i.e., college job fairs), providing company/job information and interviewing applicants.
- Contact GWT customers at least 24 hours prior to the start of a new associate
with an onboarding notification
- Review customer payroll analysis weekly to ensure accuracy
- Evaluates the appropriateness of job-seeking candidates for identified opportunities
- Develops a profile of the successful candidate for given employment opportunities
- Provides information about the hiring company to potential candidates
- Achieve weekly standards for: recruiting, onboarding, and job assignment(s);
reporting daily of metrics on efforts and outcomes
- Weekly contact with current pool of temporary associates to identify availability
for job assignments
- Refers qualified applicants to company hiring personnel for follow-up interview
- Arranges employer-linked transportation for job seekers
- Resolves employer concerns; sharing labor market data and trends with business partners and Goodwill staff
- Assess employment barriers and recommend areas of needed improvement in the workplace readiness and industry-specific skills of job seekers
Travel throughout Goodwill of North Florida’s territory for coverage of sites when requested- Provide knowledge and support in collaboration with site management for
training of newly hired GWT staff and GoodCareers personnel
