- POSITION SUMMARY
- To prepare, conduct, and coordinate training programs within New England EMS Institute. Responsible for increasing student learning through delivery of a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning and advising student.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, teaches, coordinates and evaluates EMS educational programs, primarily Paramedic.
- Utilizes educational theories and principles to facilitate learning.
- Assists the Manager with the overall planning and ongoing educational activities of the department.
- Prepares, operates and disassembles practical lab station(s).
- Participates in the assessment, development and implementation of New England EMS Institute s policies and procedures.
- Designs, teaches, coordinates and evaluates Paramedic Refresher Training Programs (RTPs).
- Participates in American Heart Association BLS and delivers BLS courses for the Elliot hospital and/or the EMS community.
- Assists as needed with PALS & ACLS programs.
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Ability to plan, organize, instruct and facilitate educational courses of quality.
- Ability to utilize technology which supports learning and teaching.
- Ability to work with students in both one on one and in group instruction situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
- Education: Associate's Degree in Science or related field of study required.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of EMS experience required. Previous EMS teaching experience preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Current National Registry as a Paramedic required. Current State of NH Paramedic certification required. State of NH Instructor/Coordinator (I/C) certification preferred. American Heart Association BLS, PALS and ACLS Provider and Instructor certification preferred. Advanced ITLS Instructor certification preferred.
- Software/Hardware: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
