Job Summary

The Encapsulation Operator is responsible for production following Batch Encapsulation Records (BERs) within the Encapsulation Department at Gaia Herbs.

We currently have openings on 2nd shift (2p-1030op) and 3rd shift (10p-0630a) for this position. We pay a shift premium of $2 per hour for working on 2nd shift and $3 per hour for working on 3rd shift.

The pay range for this position starts at $17 - $18.75 per hour depending on experience. There is opportunity to earn additional money up to $22.50 per hour through advancement within our Operations Job Levels Program.

Job Level 1 – Encapsulation Operator

• Can perform all key aspects of the position proficiently:
• Performing cleaning and sanitation properly
• Disassembling and re-connecting equipment
• Performs start-up checks and adjustments as needed
• Able to run and operate production proficiently
• Can resolve routine machine interruptions
• Follows Batch Encapsulation Records (BER) correctly
• Performs basic preventative maintenance
• Uses company systems at a proficient level
• Maintains current training requirements and certifications independently

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• 2 years of production experience and basic knowledge of mechanical systems are preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of production machinery, such as encapsulation and sealer machines.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple documentation notes.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The primary work area for this position is in a manufacturing plant. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection that is provided.
