SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineer - Sensors and Sonar Systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking multiple Engineers to support the The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. The Engineers will help support the US Navy in the design, construction, test, and evaluation in the areas of underwater acoustics. They will use physics based modeling and be required to use Finite element analysis (FEA), MATLAB, advanced modeling techniques, as well as model-based system engineering approaches to conduct underwater acoustics performance analysis.

Engineers apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications. Engineers design products, machinery, implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials, develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology. Engineers analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on the people using them. In addition to design and development, many engineers work in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production in factories, determining the causes of breakdowns, and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality. They also estimate the time and cost to complete projects.

Candidates with an Active Secret Clearance are highly desired.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's up to Master’s degree level in an Engineering discipline required.

Experience: Minimum of 3-10 years experience.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Travel: 5%

Clearance: Secret

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Standard Offices and Electronics Assembly & Testing Labs: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In the Laboratory setting, significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering.
