Primary Purpose
Manages the day-to-day maintenance and engineering of Port Arthur LNG.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs the planning, scheduling and managing all maintenance and engineering activities related to plant facilities (gas turbines, boilers, compressors, HVAC, instrumentation, pumps, piping, process control, etc.).
  • Directs the technical, design and engineering support for the terminal, including authorizing all enhancements to the plant's equipment and facilities.
  • Reviews and approves design and future maintenance for engineering and construction project proposals to achieve or exceed levels of production, improve maintenance troubleshooting, decrease production interruptions and improve maintenance productivity.
  • Directs the activities and approves all actions to maintain and enhance the plant's equipment and facilities including engineering techniques to effect improvements in equipment reliability and corrosion control.
  • Oversees maintenance planning, scheduling, long-term maintenance certification and inspection activities including condition monitoring and major overhauls are enacted.
  • Coordinates with internal and external engineering in all operational projects and new developments, from conception to completion in line with budgets and on time scheduling.
  • Oversees budgets and schedules to meet financial targets.
  • Ensures the terminal’s predictive maintenance program for equipment is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Directs development of approved contracts for maintenance related functions such as painting/coating and arranges the procurement and equipment warranty contractual terms.
  • Observe all regulatory codes, corporate values, (safety and health, environmental, quality and business continuity) plans and procedures as dictated by the IMS of the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical discipline) required.
Experience

  • 10+ years of combined maintenance and plant engineering experience in LNG terminal and/or petrochemical/gas including a minimum of three years maintenance and engineering supervisory experience required.
  • Implementation or supervision of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) required.
  • Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering processes.
  • High level of HSPE knowledge.
  • Broad knowledge of budgeting, and planning, scheduling.
  • Ability to effectively lead, delegate and motivate; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a strong team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work strategically with little direction; ability to focus on meeting/exceeding performance parameters.
  • Ability to carry out an effective analysis of rotating equipment and its parts.
  • Strong knowledge of the various types of equipment in the facility.
  • A strong working relationship and collaborative partner in the interactions of maintenance activities and performance in conjunction with reliable sustained operations.
  • Ability to address personnel HR issues from a viewpoint of fairness and practicability.
  • A participative leader that offers opinion and direction when appropriate or required.
