GCC is currently looking to find a Engineering Tech V to support their client located in Lexington Park MD. This will be supporting an active contract. Position will be performing the roles of onsite installation coordinator. Position will require Significant travel (50%-80%). The home work location can be anywhere in the US and the DOL Wage Determination rate for an Engineering Tech V applies for the specific homework location where the employee resides.

Description Responsibilities:

The role may include but is not limited to duties of Site Surveys, OSIC (On Site Installation Coordinator), and/or FSR (Field Service Representative) responsibilities as follows:

  • Support the site surveys and installation of the system.
  • Interface with the project manager for planning, scheduling, and executing installation efforts.
  • Provide technical support for US shore installations at both CONUS and OCONUS sites.
  • Provide communications, coordination, expertise and task reporting before, during and after site installations.
  • Assist with the packaging, handling, storage and transportation (PHS&T) of systems.
  • Track and report on progress, communicate with top Navy contacts at the installation sites, resolve issues and ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings.
  • Responsible for multiple deliverables on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Serves as an interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical issues.
  • Gather site survey information at various CONUS and OCONUS sites to determine optimal counter unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) installations.
  • Conduct preliminary discussions with NAVFAC contacts to prepare them for site surveys.
  • Complete and submit all required approval forms (HERP/HERO, SAAR-N for network approval etc.).
  • Complete site survey checklists gathering all pertinent data.
  • Determine equipment locations based upon data obtained and work with the facility coordinator on identifying potential power locations, infrastructure for the Array, mounting of any required masts, and network connections.
  • Document the information on the facility approval forms (GPS Coordinates, Diagrams with measurements etc.).
  • Complete the documentation process and submit to the appropriate personnel.
  • Identify where we are installing equipment and what infrastructure is required.
  • Provide status updates and provide continual follow up until the site approval is approved. If NAVFAC/Public Works is contracting out the work, track and report on the progress. Once scheduled, installation oversight of the installer, or execute the installation. In-brief the local command representatives and provide oversight of the installation. Be the primary interface with the local command to work out any issues. Provide daily updates. Coordinate all required testing.
  • Once the installations are complete, the lead/OSIC roles may transition to field service representative (FSR) positions. The FSR will support the Project Manager in sustaining the deployed site equipment in various field locations. The FSR will work to maintain the equipment deployed at the site(s). The CUAS system is a combination of radio frequency (RF) hardware and common computer equipment. The hardware is installed at a variety of specific locations at several designated sites. The CUAS system needs regular inspection and maintenance as well as troubleshooting and service if there are software or hardware failures. The nature of the operational use case requires an onsite service presence to maintain system availability.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with minimum of eight (8) years of practical experience in a relevant technical field to include six (6) years of experience with the installation of such equipment and three (3) years of experience with the design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
  • AA or AS Degree in Engineering or relevant Technical Discipline with experience: six (6) years of practical experience in a relevant Technical Field include four (4) years of experience with the installation of such equipment and one (1) year of experience with the design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings
  • Experience may be concurrent
  • Position will require 50% to 80% travel
  • Secret Clearance required

Salary will be based on the SCA labor category of Engineering Tech V which for the Washington DC area has a set rate of $43.61. ( Hourly rate may vary based on home location of applicant)
