Job description

Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in students, faculty, staff and administrative support for the Office of Admissions and Records. Answer main Admissions and Records phone line assisting with admissions/enrollment questions and direct other calls to appropriate personnel.

Duties include:

  • Assist students via telephone or in person with various questions regarding admission, enrollment, graduation, transcript requests, etc.
  • Provide assistance with graduation application processing and ceremony preparations.
  • Work with various departments throughout the college assisting staff with enrollment services, roster questions, general information, etc.
  • Oversee non-attendance drop and administrative withdrawal roster procedures
  • Send out various letters regarding attendance, transcript evaluations, etc.
  • Assist Students with: enrolling/dropping courses, printing class schedules, explaining admission requirements and college policies, answering general questions about transcript requests, FERPA, domicile, directing students to the appropriate person and/or department for assistance, and instructing students about various functions available via “My CVCC”

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision in a busy office.
  • Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to multitask and maintain accurate records.
  • Must have strong organizational abilities, including file maintenance.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be team oriented and be able to work well with others to accomplish common goals.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with a preferred schedule being 11am or 12pm to 5 pm Monday through Thursday and 8am to 5pm on Friday. (Additional hours may be needed during registration periods and during graduation).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Previous college admissions office experience.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
