ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Environment Field Tech for new construction work at our CCZJV project in Sabine Pass, TX.

This position will work a NIGHT SHIFT.

Position Summary

The Industrial Environmental Field Technician will work in the environmental department and perform under the direction of the Project Environmental Field Manager and Environmental Coordinator(s) at the construction site, and assists with all compliance activities as required by government regulations, ZII requirements, and owner requirements. Environmental Field Tech will assist the field implementation of Environmental program requirements regarding SWPPP, SPCC and Waste Management. Technician will assist the field environmental team with closure of inspection and audit findings from the field. The technician will be expected to assist with Stormwater BMP repairs, make minor repairs to silt fence, inspect quality of stormwater runoff, respond to spills for cleanup, remediation, and disposal, assist with rainwater containment draining and logging, Assist with waste collection, and maintain housekeeping in waste management area, Create spill kits, field verify location of spill kits, restock and evaluate condition of spill kits, assist with housekeeping and inventorying Environmental tools and materials storage locations, wildlife relocation; And other designated responsibilities and requirements from their supervisor.

Position Responsibilities

• Ensuring site compliance activities as required by government regulations, Zachry requirements and owner/client requirements
• Assist with jobsite spill cleanup, remediation, waste management and waste collection
• Inventory and stock spill kits
• Assist in wildlife relocation
• Aerosol can puncturing

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Must be organized and have the ability to maintain a running inventory.
• Must have 0-3 years’ experience operating related environmental work.
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to work in the elements including the heat.
• Must be able to work extended hours beyond the normal worksite hours and any additional overtime as needed

Preferred Additional Qualification

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• 0-3 years’ experience in Environmental field working Industrial Construction.

Physical Requirements

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
