Job Summary: The Environmental Coordinator will report directly to the Environmental Manager. This position is located at Clear AFS, Alaska.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and reports on site Environmental Compliance, Natural/Cultural Resources Management and pollution prevention plans and programs for assigned site.
- Develops, implements, and trains personnel about Environmental programs and reports.
- Conducts audits and publishes reports that document compliance with federal, state, local, and DoD environmental standards in all areas of contract compliance at the assigned site.
- Maintains records and statistics of all environmental programs and incidents.
- Interfaces and communicates with state and local authorities regarding site environmental issues.
- Develops corrective action plans and budgets.
- Develops EHS Quality Control program.
- Perform additional job-related duties as directed by ENV Supervisor.
Educational/Training Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Field, Engineering or Natural Sciences, strong mathematical including Algebra – dimensional analysis & basic Calculus. Working knowledge of Basic statistics helpful. Some Chemistry Training and background helpful.
Desired Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Natural Sciences preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the application of Microsoft software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point. Skilled at performing advanced information searches over the net and performing regulatory related calculations and associated dimensional analysis essential to verifying the accuracy of the calculated result.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point. Able to perform advanced information searches over the net.
- Strong mathematical skills including Algebra – dimensional analysis & basic Calculus. working knowledge of Basic statistics helpful. Some Chemistry Training and background helpful.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment essential. Experience working at a military facility preferred.
- Must have an Active Security Clearance.
Supervision:
- Reports to the Environmental Manager.
Work Environment:
- Computing center environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends. Support the system via “on call” when outside of normal working hours.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Able to wear an APR (Air Purifying Respirator).
- Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
