CEC is a fast-growing company and is seeking an entry-level Landfill Gas Technician. The objective of the job is to support our ongoing environmental efforts to help landfills reduce pollution and greenhouse gases by controlling and capturing the methane gas generated naturally by the decomposition of waste. We are looking for a long term employee in our Southern region to provide support to our existing landfill O&MM Team.

This position is an apprentice-style position where the requisite skills and knowledge can only be gained through your time and dedication. You will have the ability to grow into higher level and senior positions as you gain the skills, knowledge, and wherewithal to effectively make decisions and become a productive member of our team. This position does require travel in the Florida/Georgia area, manual labor, significant outdoor work, writing and communicating proficiently and effectively, working alone and being able to be a self-starter and motivator.

Job Responsibilities:

• Use a gas analyzer to monitor and tune landfill gas systems
• Use an air monitoring/sampling device to perform Surface Emission Monitoring
• Exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50lbs
• Wear OSHA Level D and required personal protective equipment and monitoring devices
• Input, edit and interpret data collected in field and complete daily activity logs, checklists and forms in Excel, Word and various other online systems
• Miscellaneous errands (equipment and vehicle maintenance and cleaning, equipment inventory, non-routine tasks, etc.)
• HDPE pipe fusion
• Manual labor
• Walk long distances
• Hand and power tool operation
• Travel

Minimum Qualifications for this position include:

• High school diploma
• Computer literate
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 21 years or older
• Must be eligible to be legally employed in the U.S.
• Must be able to walk long distances
• Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check

Preferred Qualifications for this position include: * Landfill gas field experience or construction experience

• College degree, preferably a Bachelor's degree in the environmental or physical sciences or a related field
• Experience working outdoors
