Job Description:

The Environmental Specialist under the EHS Manager is responsible for managing the factory's Environmental.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage on-site hazardous and chemical waste programs by factoriesfollowing the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other state and federal government agencies' regulations.

2. Execute onsite support services for the entire lifecycle of hazardous materials management programs at factory sites by performing chemical inventories, segregating chemicals, and managing hazardous waste off-site.

3. Developing and maintaining standardized operational procedures by environmental compliance, interpreting the environmental disturbance risks, and communicating with environmental regulatory authorities for compliance assistance

4. Train the factory on proper chemical safety and hazardous waste management

5. Develop presentation reports of environmental regulations and proceedings for submittal to regulatory bodies

6. Respond to chemical spill emergencies by managing the containment, clean up, and disposal of hazardous materials.

7. Stay up to date on the latest development regarding environmental safety, new laws implemented in federal, state, or local regulatory bodies under the environment protection act, and related program areas assigned

8. Other work as arranged by the EHS manager

9. Conduct on-site inspections

10. Collect and test samples of soil and nearby water sources

11. Assess the potential impact certain processes may have on the environment

12. Review permit applications

13. Prepare reports and legal documents

· Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or “Superfund”)

· Environmental compliance planning and expectation

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in environmental science or other relevant subjects like physical science, environmental engineering

· More than two years of experience in the Environmental.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Wastewater Operator C

· Method 9 Certified

· Hazwoper

Physical Requirements

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
