Work Schedule: Part time; 20 hours weekly (average), including some evenings and weekends
Job Purpose: Carry out those duties associated with the coordination of events, including organizing all COA events including fundraisers, and participation in the day to day activities of the Development & Communication department.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with the team to plan and organize new and existing fundraising activities, campaigns, & special events, including: organizing venues, caterers, entertainment, etc., securing event sponsors from business community and other benefactors, enlisting volunteers to assist in solicitation of local donations, such as auction items, and enlisting volunteers to provide maximum staffing of events.
· Establishes and assists event committees made up of volunteers who will oversee and coordinate the various events.
· Develops timelines and provides administrative support for all events and fundraising activities.
· Maintains event information files, physical and electronic, to ensure consistent future fundraising performance.
· Assists in the preparation of promotional/outreach materials.
· Cultivates donor relationships by interacting with and building rapport with volunteers and participants.
· Monitors project tasks from inception through completion to ensure schedule compliance.
· Cross-trains and supports the Volunteer Coordinator and Development Administrative Coordinator.
Additional Duties as Requested
As needed, perform additional duties necessary to ensure the administrative and development functions of the organization are performed in the most professional and effective manner possible, as well as support the overall effective operation of the COA.
Qualifications:
· Two to five years of volunteer, events, and/or fundraising experience preferred.
· High school diploma or equivalent is required; College degree or coursework is preferred.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Comfortable with public speaking in front of groups, i.e.: volunteer orientations, tours, group meetings, community networking, etc.
· Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Publisher.
· Experience with design software i.e., Canva and Photoshop preferred.
· Experience managing database software preferred.
· Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles and views of COA.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision – self-motivated & confident.
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet defined deadlines.
· Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
