Evidence-Based Health Program Coordinator
Job description
The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and patient Evidence-Based Health Program Coordinator whose greatest passion is the health and well-being of the community they serve. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Healthy Living, the Evidence-Based Health Program Coordinator will supervise the daily operations related to the YMCA's portfolio of evidence-based programs (EBP) such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring, Y·DPP, HWYC, PEP, MBB/MOC, etc. The coordinator will provide support and guidance to all staff and volunteers to ensure that the programs achieve quality performance outcomes. The coordinator will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The coordinator will work closely with the Healthy Living Exec, Senior Center Operations Director and branch HLDs to coordinate and implement quality programs.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
EVEDENCE-BASED HEALTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in healthcare, wellness, public health or related field.
- Must have outstanding communication and relationship building skills and the ability to build community within a group and empathy for health seekers.
- Must meet the required qualifications to become program instructors and/or leaders for some of the evidence-based programs
- Approved group exercise and/or personal training certification preferred.
- Ability to actively listen and facilitate group discussions.
- Possess a positive and professional attitude.
- Must be flexible to work with a wide variety of people.
- Must have exceptional organization skills, be results driven and solution focused, be responsibly autonomous.
- Must be computer savvy and learn data applications quickly in order to run reports, identify trends and train new staff.
- Must have the ability to build strong relationships, inspire confidence and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders (physicians, public health officials, employers, payers, health seekers and senior Y leaders, Instructors and lifestyle coaches).
EVEDINCE-BASED HEALTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff associated with related evidence-based programs.
- Serves as point of contact for program related inquiries, coverage, staffing and training.
- Respond to questions from current or potential participants within communicated timeframe.
- Attend necessary trainings and webinars to have thorough knowledge of related programs.
- Maintain certifications in agreed upon programs.
- Support coaches, instructors and staff in implementing programs.
- Evaluate staff performances through observation addressing any concerns in a timely manner and
- Keep program schedules current, assigning instructors to best meet the program outcomes.
- Assure instructors certifications and trainings are valid and current.
- Perform and provide excellent customer service skills by exceeding member/participant expectations.
- Coordinate necessary trainings with appropriate department(s).
- If necessary, serve as a substitute for instructors and coaches.
- Coordinate and secure staffing, program locations and logistics programs.
- Organize master schedule of classes/locations offered throughout the Pikes Peak area.
- Recruit, screen and enroll eligible participants for programs.
- Monitor quality of support that the instructors and coaches provide to participants to include site visits, peer audits, paper documentation, electronic documentation.
- Engage marketing to ensure adequate publicity and marketing of programs with physicians, clinics, schools, employers and community; recruit participants who can share their stories.
- Audit classes to ensure compliance with program standards.
- Establish community partnerships and family referral pathways.
- Support participant families in post-session programs.
- Regularly analyze data to ensure it meets quality performance standards.
- Meet all deadlines for reporting and data input.
- Prepare grant reports as requested by granting organizations, meeting all deadlines set.
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA Annual Campaign.
- Communicate regularly and in a timely manner with branch leadership regarding space usage, program information and changes that may take place.
- Other duties as assigned.
