Eligible for Sign on Bonus !Position requires ability to work nights and weekends as needed. Valid Virginia Driver's License is RequiredPerforms difficult skilled trades work participating in and supervising the food production functions at the Civic Center, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. Continuous supervision is exercised over assigned staff.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans, coordinates, oversees, and participates in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food.Controls, records, and assesses daily purchasing of all foods to ensure proper levels of inventory and quality products.Assesses, on a continuous basis, the cost of food and labor to improve cost and quality; meets budgeted food and wage cost goals.Assigns, directs, trains, and inspects the work of staff; disciplines, coaches, counsels, and evaluates staff performance; develops staff schedules.Ensures all personnel in kitchen area handles, prepares, and stores food in accordance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's guidelines.Maintains a continuing effort of assessing both competition and the industry for the latest techniques and developments in order to progressively improve the quality of food prepared.Ensures the department is functioning in a clean, safe, and productive manner, to produce a quality product; conducts inspections and weekly investigations to note deficiencies; takes corrective action as necessary to rectify deficiencies noted.Attends meetings as required or assigned.
