Job description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Constructs, fabricates, installs, and finishes exhibit constructions. Handles, cleans, and prepares artifacts and materials for exhibition following prescribed museum methodology. Constructs exhibit props, acrylic boxes, specialty mounts and installs museum artifacts and collection documents. Mats and frames, in an archival manner, museum artifacts and collection documents. Operates woodworking equipment, small electrical tools, paint sprayer, and other construction-related equipment. General tasks related to collection maintenance and physical moving of large exhibit cases and installations, building and maintenance of shelving units at offsite storage facility in accordance with museum practice.
Job Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in carpentry, matting and framing, and/or building construction technique
- Ability to climb and move 10 foot long ladders around facility
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Information:
Hourly Range: $16.00
