Job description
Taylor Construction & Development is seeking a carpenter with experience in new construction and remodeling for a full-time position. Taylor Construction offers excellent pay, two weeks paid vacation, and four paid holidays. Taylor Construction is located in Cedar Key – a small, fishing village on the west coast of Florida, which is home to a large clam farming community and is known for great fishing and the old, small-town Florida feel. Most projects will be located in Cedar Key.
Job Description:
- Under general supervision, performs full range of journeyman-level carpenter duties
- Understand how to read blueprints
- Perform rough and finished carpentry work
- Perform duties such as foundation layout, framing, installing windows and doors, installing trusses, building stairs, installing siding, building decks, installing trim, and other building construction activities
- Perform all activities in a safe and professional manner
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Documentation proving eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Reliable transportation to get to job locations
- Valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record
- Drug free
- Physical capability to lift heavy items such as large tools, ladders, lumber, bagged concrete, etc.
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs of multi-story buildings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
