Ensure the proper printing of sheets in accordance with customer specification. The operator is responsible for performing duties in accordance with the job specification. In addition, the operator is required to maintain production standards and quality of printed material to their internal customer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reading and comprehending the schedule to determine the sequence of production.
• Interpreting job order specification sheet to determine needs for printing.
• Ability to make ready and set up the printing press in accordance to job order specification.
• Verifying printed sheets meet job requirements
• Running production to optimize throughput
• Performing and documenting quality audits of production to ensure quality, adjust press as necessary
• Completing paperwork for production tracking
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical press issues
• Operating X-Rite scanning and hand-held spectrophotometer
• Directing and training crew
• Using a hand truck to move printed loads into the staging area for their internal customer
• Proper use of chemicals and ability to read and comprehend MSDS

Additional Duties

• Operating guillotine
• Transposing loads to remove printing related defects
• Maintaining housekeeping in and around printing press

4. Performing preventive maintenance as needed

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have mechanical skills, be accurate and precise, ability to use ruler, able to lift 50 lbs. or less, pass company given color test, and be a problem solver. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision. Must have High school diploma or equivalent.

Safety Policies and Practices
All employees are required to wear safety glasses and steel toe shoes while in the manufacturing area. Sound protection is required in designated areas. Rules for employee conduct are covered in the employee orientation and in the employee handbook. To operate a hand truck, the employee needs to be licensed within a responsible time period. During this period, the trainer is responsible for the trainee’s safety in the operation of these trucks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
