About the Position

W-S Specialty Services, a subsidiary of W-S Companies, is seeking an Explosive Supervisor / Foreman. The incumbent will be responsible for managing/supervising the explosive project team that will place and detonate explosives to deslag boilers and tanks. Responsibilities include planning and executing work plans, establishing schedules, coordinating with customers and personnel, and ensuring all safety standards are met. Planning for, ordering, and maintaining supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• This is a 100% travel position
• A minimum of five years of experience in military/civilian explosive fields – Salary is commensurate with experience
• Two or more years of supervisory experience
• Ensure that explosive safety laws and regulations are observed
• Have knowledge in, and be able to prove proficiency in explosive safety, storage, transportation, and use of NONEL systems
• Must be able to pass the ATF Possessor Questionnaire and subsequent background check
• Have, or be able to obtain quickly, a CDL with HAZMAT endorsement
• Be able to pass any testing and related background checks to obtain relevant state explosive licenses
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

What does it take to work for W-S Companies?

• Must be 25 years of age
• Ability to work any shift along with weekends
• Must have acceptable ID, pass a background check, physical, and drug test
• Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not necessary
• High School diploma
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Understand verbal and written instructions
• Basic math and safety skills
• Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 Ibs. on occasion
• May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on occasion
• Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects frequently
• Will climb and move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas while maintaining balance
• Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions
