Fabricator Qualifications
Work environment – shop onsite but field work mostly.
Types of equipment – Heavy Duty Trucks, Trailers (multiple types), Roll Off Containers, mobile shears, excavators, loaders, forklifts, skid steers, material handlers, 5 tine grapples, magnet systems, etc.
Types of cutting/welding – oxygen/propane torches, plasma torch, arc gouger, stick (7018,6011,Hard surfacing) mig (flux core, noflux, suitcase welders)
Main types of tasks – Container repairs (gashes in walls, walls warped broke, doors broke/bent, rollers/bottom rails and top rails warped, broke or rusted out. Trailer landing gear and door and floor repairs,
Grapple rebuilds, shear build up and blade flips on shears, etc.
Needs to be able to stick and mig weld.
Experience with using torch and plasma cutter.
Ability to work independently and in the field repairing containers and trailers for hauling scrap metal.
Experience with arc gouging and heavy equipment attachment repairs i.e. buckets, grapples, shears.
Operating of forklifts, skid steers, loaders, excavators are useful.
OTJ training is considered for individuals with little experience but need basic knowledge of welding and cutting of steel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
