Magna, Eagle Bend Manufacturing is hiring and experienced Fabricator to provide metal fabrication to support all areas of maintenance and manufacturing.

Shift:

  • 1st Shift 6:30 am to 2:30 pm

Pay:

  • Starting pay $21.40

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use basic machine shop equipment to fabricate a variety of useful metal items for manufacturing including guards, racks, containers, tables, protective railing, etc.
  • Read basic mechanical and fabrication prints and sketches to complete projects on time and within budget using a variety of stock and/or salvage materials
  • Perform welding and cutting using electrode arc welder, Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welder, and oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment
  • Paint surfaces and finish projects to meet or exceed Mafact standards
  • Maintain & repair metal containers and storage racks used by manufacturing
  • Repair gear belts, chain drives, shaft bearings, and seal assemblies as directed by Maintenance personnel
  • Assist Maintenance personnel with installation or production and support equipment in conjunction with Engineering and Production guidelines
  • Use and maintain necessary documentation such as work orders and log books
  • Maintain supplies and assist with preparation of material requisitions
  • Seek Continuous Improvement opportunities to improve facilities
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and perform equipment inspections as required
  • Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in fabrication (Welding MIG, TIG, Stick, etc)
  • Manufacturing in the Automotive Business Preferred but not required

SKILLS:

  • Individual must be a good communicator and a good listener
  • Good problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills
  • Industrial Maintenance helpful, preferably in manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to move throughout the plant
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds may be require
