Facilities Attendant

Status: (Non-Exempt, Hourly, Full-time)

Supervisor: Residential Service Coordinator

Purpose: To provide maintenance and attend agency facilities.

Position Qualifications:

  • Sound judgment, organizational, and management skills.
  • Ability to respond in a supportive manner to women, children, and men in domestic violence, sexual assaults or crisis response situations.
  • Display sensitivity to varying cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work in the United States and have a current Driver’s License with a good record and liability insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Facility Management duties shall be, but not limited to:

1. Clean common areas weekly at the Louise Wood Angel House and the Administrative offices. These areas include the dining area, kitchens, break rooms, hallways, reception areas, conference rooms, living room, laundry rooms, playroom, classrooms, fitness room and all restrooms not located in the living quarters.

2. Ensure the shelter and administrative offices have adequate food, cleaning, linens, office supplies and other items necessary to ensure efficient operations.

3. Ensure empty rooms are thoroughly cleaned and ready for new clients.

4. Pick up grocery orders, stock pantry, cold storage and personal hygiene for clients.

5. Make repairs and perform general maintenance at all locations (paint, change light bulbs, patch holes, etc.).

6. Maintain outdoor areas keeping lawns mowed, trimmed, and clean from debris.

7. Implement the safety and security plans for the facilities, reducing liabilities and maintaining a safe environment for clients, employees and guest.

8. Ensure all safety and security items are current, appropriately placed, monitored, inspected, and operational in all agency facilities. This includes fire sprinklers, fire alarm, smoke detectors, CO2 detectors, fire extinguishers, security doors, security camera system, and escape plans.

9. Provide client transportation and run client errands when needed or as assigned by supervisor or Client Service Director.

10. Assist in moving office and shelter furniture as requested

11. Keep storage buildings organized and clean

12. Participate in annual inventory

13. Put up and take down holiday decorations including Christmas tree(s)

14. Check and replace air filters as needed.

15. Make minor furniture repairs

16. Keep all trash picked up, sidewalks and doorways clear and hazard free

17. Restrict all client interaction to a minimum and refer any non-facilities related questions to their Case Manager.

Administrative Expectations:

1. Adhere to Crisis Center of West Texas Policy and Procedure Handbook.Conduct yourself according to the Mission of the agency and always seek to move the Mission of the agency forward.

2. May take pictures, produce artwork or other creative works for agency projects, all which becomes property of agency.

3. Ensure all operations are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

4. Ability to complete tasks in a chaotic and unstructured environment.

5. Willingness to participate in initial training for new employees.

6. Ability to organize, direct and coordinate work activities

8. Supervise volunteer work projects related to facilities or building operations.

9. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director/CEO.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
