Job Title: Building Technician

Branch: West Chester Area YMCA

Location: West Chester, PA (605 Airport Road)

Shifts/Availability: Full Time (Sunday - Thursday, 8am - 4:30pm)
Pay Rate: $20-$25/hour

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose: The West Chester Area YMCA is seeking an experienced Facilities Mechanic to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities for the benefit of our members, staff and community.

Responsibilities:
Provide quick response service to all staff and YMCA members for maintenance related issues

General facilities maintenance – trouble shoot/correct mechanical, electrical and plumbing related issues
Follow established guidelines for cleaning and mixing chemicals
Adhere to safety and risk management procedures and alert management of any safety violations or risk situations
Assist with opening/maintaining pools per branch schedule and per CCHD guidelines
Actively participate in and administer preventative maintenance program

Clean the facility interior and exterior and assist with room set up/break down
Complete projects according to schedule
Be available to attend meetings, trainings, classes or seminars that relate to enhancing trade/construction skills and member service
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Three years of experience in the facility field required
Mechanical and electrical experience required
Must have valid driver’s license

Must have above average knowledge of one of the trades (ie: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, masonry, painting, landscaping, electrical and other wiring, general construction, etc.)
