This is an exciting opportunity at an Arts Facility with youth programming. Dance studio, theater, recording studio, digital media lab and more. The Facilities Manager will oversee all building-related activities. They will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.

The goal is to ensure the Art Center is problem-free and safe so that visitors, youth/students and employees will experience the best conditions for work, classes and events.

Ø Must be able to work independently, with limited supervision.

Ø Must be self-motivated and able to identify tasks that will further the goals of the client and organization.

Ø Must be able to work with an ethnically, culturally and economically diverse population and be comfortable in a variety of settings.

Ø Must be honorable, honest and above reproach in all activities.

Ø Must have computer skills that include, at a minimum, word processing, and spreadsheet analysis.

Ø Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.

Ø Must be organized and able to manage projects methodically and timely.

Ø Must have customer service orientation and be able to identify the best methods for meeting customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
• Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health, safety and efficiency standards
• Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
• Supervise all external contractors/vendors and coordinate work closely with facilities and operations staff
• Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
• Allocate office and program space according to needs
• Support facilities needs associated with on-site events and programming
• Handle insurance plans and service contracts
• Participate in annual and periodic budgeting and forecasting
• Assist in development of Facilities Operations Manual (FOM) and follow policies, protocol and procedures in accordance with approved FOM

Requirements

• Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
• Knowledge of basic budgeting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good analytical/critical thinking
• Education: Associate of Arts (AA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) preferred, but significant relevant experience may substitute
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage
• Background check and LiveScan required. Must have Covid vaccinations.

Competitive Salary and Benefits. This is a Full-Time Permanent position.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
Requiring Covid protocol for all individuals using the facilities. Facilities Manager will assist with implementation of policies and associated operating procedures to keep the facility, guests and staff safe.
