We are seeking an individual that shares our vision of partnering with individuals, families and the community to foster hope, wellness and recovery.

The Family Advocate works in partnership with the program team and consumers to facilitate communication and help ensure that the consumer’s interests are best represented in all settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and group counseling and case management on site, at satellite sites, in the field or in the home;
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team rounds and conferences;
  • Refers consumers/families to ancillary services;
  • Represents the program at collaborative interagency meetings;
  • Provides consultation and advocacy for individuals in inpatient, residential and independent living situations, including on-site visits and discharge meetings as needed;
  • Accompanies clients/families to offsite activities;
  • Compiles and writes case studies, and maintains records in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations;
  • Maintains and disseminates information on community resources;
  • Attends staff development training seminars on current practices as directed by the Executive Director;
  • Undertakes related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Personal/life experience as a recipient of mental health services required. Peer advocacy/counseling training and/or some experience working in the mental health field preferred. High School diploma/GED and valid driver’s license required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
